The internet – such a magical, scary place. It’s got a bunch of poop happening on it, but I also find it so helpful and uplifting and great. Feel free to share with me links to your fave sites (blogs, vlogs, webcomics, etc) , cos I love finding new stuff like that. Also – feel free to comment with pictures or videos of baby animals too. <3
I really enjoy http://www.zooborns.com/ – I’ve got my rss set up to email me (blogtrottr) so I get baby animal photos + information about the animal sent to me around 10pm Adelaide, Australia time – its nice end of day reading. The education stuff in the emails I really enjoy too, ie not just here’s a baby lynx, this is a baby lynx and they have these traits etc. Its amazing how much animal therapy helps 🙂 Keep up the comic-ing, I enjoy them a lot 🙂
oooooh! that is great 😀 cute, cute!
Hey I just wanted to thank you for all that you’ve done. You’ve helped me a lot with my transitioning and just general mental health. Your comic is a big source of humor and information for me and I’m really glad you’re here.
ohh >< thank you! that it so lovely to hear! thank you

& this one you might need to be a little careful with (some of the befores are gruesome), but they almost always have a happy ending:

*bookmarked* thank you !
I can heavily recommend gruntle.me – the cute baby animal pics are out in force 🙂
xx Dee
hahaha, I love the idea of being gruntled! <3
The internet can also be a lifeline for queer people who don’t have access to or know of queer communities near them. I know that having internet access really helped me with figuring out my gender identity.
Yes! Same! I’m an introvert and social anxious, and I live in a really small country – so having the internet has really helped me connect to other folk like me, and to do it in ways that feel safe and ok to do <3
People are often dismissive of things on the net due to their supposed triviality – the “isn’t all pictures of baby animals” argument. There are a lot of important conversations happening here, connections of individuals and communities around the world, and even creation of a human culture like never before seen on this planet, but yes, a lot of what’s out there is indeed just fluff.
So what? The fluff is important too.
As Cory Doctorow notes, think of the conversations you have with the people important to you. How many of those are deep, important conversations and how many are just “fluff?” Both of these groups are very important to our connections are people. So yes, cute pictures of kittens (puppies, kits, whatever) are indeed as important as discussions of how to build a better world for everyone.
Gah! “It’s all pictures …” not “Isn’t” …
yes, yes, yes!
yessss I completely agree with all of this.
I like That Deaf Guy: http://www.thatdeafguy.com/
I personally love https://www.stumbleupon.com/ – it’s a site which links you to a multitude of different things available on the internet, based on your interests (which can be changed whenever)! It’s great for a bit of procrastination (whoops, perhaps I shouldn’t have recommended it to one of my favourite (and a fairly frequent) content creators…), but also you can discover some incredible stuff from the depths of the internet that you’d never find otherwise! 🙂
I sure hope you like kittens taking baths!

Agree agree agree! As someone who practically grew up on the Internet, pretty much every phase of my identity is documented in some way on here. From “I’m not queer, I’m bicurious!” to “I’m a bisexual girl who likes to crossdress” to “Genderfluid! That’s a thing!” to the current “Polyamorous grey-asexual panromantic genderqueer faerie thing”, it’s all here, and it’s largely happened with the help of people I’d never have met if not for the Internet.
Yeah, there’s shit, but there’s shit EVERYWHERE. And in meatspace it’s a lot harder to protect oneself from it sometimes. :/
