So I went to my very first punk show the other day, research for a comic project I’m working on. I outsourced some advice from the internet, and from my friends Stace and Mikey. Here’s what happened….
Also! Joey and I are off to NEW YORK tomorrow! Very exciting! If you have any suggestions for fun queer things, good coffee, or generally good things to see and do, let us know. Joey is specifically after a trans-friendly massage while they’re over there (going full holiday mode relax level 57). And if you’re around you should come along to the Queers and Comics conference – I’ll be signing my comics on Friday afternoon (3.30-4.30) and doing a panel on Saturday at 11 – but there’s heaps of amazing people talking the whole time so y’all should come. It’s $20 for 2 days, which seems outrageously affordable.
I totally feel you on this – I’m socially anxious, introverted as heck, and can’t stand crowds, and yet punk shows are so much fun.
Well, until my 41-year-old knees have had enough.
Toxic masculinity or woke masculinity? – I’m wondering too! Interested in hearing other’s perspectives…
