I’ve got a referral to the respiratory clinic – so I’m hoping that I will be able to sort something out soon enough.
I’ve been putting it off for ages because I had kinda decided that if I had to sleep with a giant honking machine at night I’d never find another person who’d wanna share a bed with me. It’s not exactly a sexy thing. But, I was reminded, that the snoring is pretty disturbing (apparently I sound like I’m dying every 1-2minutes, before letting out a giant snore) so a sleep machine is probably better.
Also! If you’re in Wellington in September you should come along to: Queer Practice – A Panel on Writing. We’re putting it on for our Same Same But Different Wellington offering, and I’ll be chairing it. Details for non-facebook people:
SATURDAY, 16 SEPTEMBER 2023 FROM 18:00-19:30
At Good Books (2/16 Jessie Street, Te Aro, Wellington)
Queer Practice is a panel discussion celebrating the writing practice of four queer writers. Chaired by comic artist, author and archivist Sam Orchard, authors Mia Farlane, Rose Lu, Renée and Chanelle Moriah will explore what, how and why they write. Free to attend, no reservations required.
My mum recently got a cpap machine – it’s not super loud! We stayed in a hotel together, 2 bedroom apartment and I didn’t even notice it.
Ohhh this is good news!!
Sending you BIG HUGS! I was diagnosed with sleep Aponea almost ten years ago. I still snore and have days where I feel tired, but I use my CPAP every night and feel better. Whatever your journey or diagnosis is, I hope you may feel something that helps you feel better.
Oh cool – I’m so pleased to hear this. Almost everyone I’ve talked to with sleep apnea have said that the CPAP machine is life changing. I’m still waiting on a referral, but hopefully soon
Omg do you have sleep apnea??? I got diagnosed with it last year and omg getting a CPAP machine has changed my life!!!!!!!!!! And its heaps quieter than you’d imagine – took me a bit of getting used to, but now I barely notice that its there! If you ever have any qs or wanna talk about it just lemme know <3
Ohhh yes please Will – a chat would be helpful! I’m waiting on a referral to the respiratory clinic at the hospital but I’m wondering if I should just go private?!
This might end up being HUGE for your mental health and anxiety, as well! Sleep is IMPORTANT, and you’ve *never* *known* *this* *world* *with* *it*!!!
This is true – I LOVE this framing of it! thank you <3 <3
